  • Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you register.
  • Profile information: Professional headline, bio, target roles, locations, LinkedIn URL, and any other information you choose to provide.
  • Resume data: Text extracted from uploaded PDF resumes for automated processing.
  • Assessment data: Responses to skills assessments, scores, and badge status.
  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and interactions with the Service.
  • Payment data: Payment is processed by Paddle. We do not store credit card details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Generate personalised skills assessments and job matches
  • Send transactional emails (verification codes, notifications)
  • Process payments through our payment provider Paddle
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Automated Analysis

Athena Verified uses automated analysis to generate skills assessments, career recommendations, and content suggestions. Your profile data and resume content may be sent to third-party analysis providers (including HuggingFace and Groq) solely for the purpose of generating these features. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect your data. Assessment results and profile badges are informational attributes and do not constitute determinations of skill level or employment suitability.

5. Data Sharing

We share your data only with:

  • Paddle — payment processing
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • HuggingFace / Groq — analysis provider
  • Fly.io / Netlify — infrastructure hosting

We may also disclose your data if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

6. Public Profile

Your Athena Verified profile — including your display name, headline, verified/vetted badges, and target roles — may be visible to other users. You control what information appears on your public profile via Settings.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Data portability

9. Cookies

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and JWT-based authentication. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us immediately.
